CHECKING MINING AVAILABILITY…

Do not assume a worker is running until its terminal receives a job. Check again shortly. Read the setup guide ↗

THE WHOLE JOURNEY

FROM ADDRESS
TO COLLECTION.

STEP / 01

CREATE OR IMPORT

Create a Quantus wallet and check your recovery backup, or import your existing wallet with its original settings. This creates access to an address; it does not start mining.

STEP / 02

VERIFY YOUR ADDRESS

Unlock the wallet, then select Verify address & sign in. Your wallet signs a login message proving address ownership. No network fee or mint payment is involved.

STEP / 03

PREPARE YOUR BALANCE

Keep QTC in this same address on Quantus mainnet for the epoch mint price, network transaction fee and minimum account balance. Mining searches for a mint opportunity; it does not generate QTC.

STEP / 04

START MINING

Open Miner, check readiness and press Start mining when the collection is open. Your browser checks WebGPU and runs hashes on this device’s GPU. No download or config is needed. Keep Miner open; you can switch tabs or apps. Browser energy or memory saving can suspend background work. An external worker is available as an advanced option.

STEP / 05

PROOF ACCEPTED

The server validates your hash against the current job. An accepted proof creates one unpaid reservation lasting 5 minutes. The default browser miner stops and opens a mint dialog on Miner.

STEP / 06

REVIEW, THEN PAY

Select Review mint. Check the token ID, your owner address, treasury and epoch price. Select Sign & pay only when the details are correct. It authorizes the mint price plus a network fee.

STEP / 07

CONFIRM & COLLECT

The reservation shows Confirming while the transaction is checked. After finalized success it becomes Minted and the QTARD appears in Collection. Press Start mining again to search for another opportunity.

01 / WALLET SETUP

CREATE OR
RESTORE.

Create your first wallet

  1. Open Wallet → Set up wallet → Create new wallet. Leave the default wallet settings unless you have a specific reason to change them.
  2. Choose and confirm a strong, unique password. It encrypts this browser’s wallet copy; it is not a recovery phrase or a BIP39 passphrase.
  3. Write down the 24 recovery words in their exact order. Save the signature scheme, account index and any BIP39 passphrase with the backup. Do not put this backup in a worker config or share it in support messages.
  4. Use Copy recovery phrase if you need to save the complete phrase to your private backup. System clipboard history or sync may retain the words; remove the clipboard entry afterward. Copying does not replace the backup check.
  5. Select Check my backup. Enter the requested numbered words from your backup, then select Verify backup & finish. This local check is different from signing in to mining.
  6. Copy and check your public address. Select Verify address & sign in to prove control of it. This login signature cannot spend your QTC.

Import an existing wallet

  1. Select Import existing wallet and enter your 24-word recovery phrase on your trusted device.
  2. Under Advanced wallet settings, use the same signature scheme, account index and BIP39 passphrase as the original wallet. A different setting can restore a different valid address.
  3. Enter your original public address in the optional address check. If it does not match, correct the settings before proceeding or funding the new address.
  4. Set a password for this browser’s encrypted copy. It can differ from the password on your previous device.
  5. Compare the restored address, then sign in. Finalized inscriptions sync by this address; restoring does not move or duplicate them.

Raw seed import is an advanced option for a 32-byte seed, not an expanded private key. For an official HD wallet, use phrase import.

THREE DIFFERENT CHECKS

Backup check: confirms you copied your recovery words. Address verification: signs a free login message. Sign & pay: authorizes a specific mint transaction that can spend funds.

Wallet security, locking and recovery

Keys are generated or imported locally using the official Quantus SDK. The saved wallet is encrypted with your local password. Unlocking allows signatures in this tab; it auto-locks after 10 minutes without interaction. Locking clears signing access while mining can continue. Sign out ends the 15-minute website login and stops browser mining. External workers keep their separate expiry unless revoked.

Use a trusted device and verify the website address before importing secrets. Browser encryption cannot protect an unlocked session from a compromised device. The implementation has not undergone an independent security audit. Removing browser data removes the local wallet copy; your recovery backup is needed to restore it.

02 / BROWSER MINING

PRESS START.
CLAIM YOUR WORK.

  1. Open Wallet and sign in. Create/import your wallet, unlock it and select Verify address & sign in. No mint payment is authorized by login.
  2. Open Miner and check readiness. The Miner page shows wallet, login, GPU support and collection status. Test GPU performs a local computation check even before live mining opens. A GPU test cannot reserve an NFT.
  3. Press Start mining on Miner when live mining is open. The site checks WebGPU, verifies a local GPU self-test and creates temporary mining access automatically. There is no miner download or config for this mode.
  4. Keep Miner open. Searching means your device is trying hashes. The measured hashrate and count update while it runs. Use Stop mining at any time; closing Miner, navigating away or signing out stops the session. Resume by pressing Start mining again.
  5. Switch tabs or apps while mining. The dedicated GPU worker continues while the browser permits background work. Browser energy saving, memory saving or device sleep may suspend it. Keep Miner open and add the site to your browser’s always-active list for longer sessions.
  6. Mining can continue while the wallet locks. After 10 minutes without interaction, local signing access locks. The 15-minute website login can also expire without stopping an already authorized worker. The mining panel shows the remaining worker access time. Unlock and sign in again before reviewing or paying for a proof.
  7. Claim the accepted proof. Mining stops after one accepted proof and opens its mint dialog on Miner. Review the token, owner, treasury and epoch price, then sign the payment within 5 minutes. The NFT appears after finalized success.

Mining uses your device’s GPU and electricity and can increase temperature. It is never started automatically. Faster hardware can attempt more hashes, but no completion time is guaranteed. WebGPU requires a supported browser, GPU acceleration and HTTPS (localhost is allowed during development). If the GPU check fails, use a compatible browser or the optional external worker.

Browser mining uses the same server-issued jobs, nonce ranges, target checks and reservation rules as external workers. It sends only a temporary mining credential and proofs to the backend. Wallet secrets never enter the mining worker, and mining cannot authorize a payment.

External worker · advanced option

This is the optional external worker. Browser mining on Miner needs no download. External workers use the same job protocol and difficulty from a local or remote machine with a compatible OpenCL GPU.

  1. Prepare the machine. Install Python 3.11 or later and your GPU vendor’s OpenCL-capable driver. Get Python ↗
  2. Download and extract. Download QTARDS miner (.zip) · SHA-256 checksum. Open a terminal inside the extracted qtards-miner folder.
  3. Get access from Miner. Create/import your wallet on Wallet, then open Miner → Unlock → Verify address & sign in → External workers → Create worker access → Download config. Put qtards-worker.json in the extracted qtards-miner folder, beside the miner directory.
  4. Install dependencies and run. The miner selects the first compatible GPU. Use its optional device selector when needed.
python -m pip install -r miner/requirements.txt
python miner/opencl.py selftest
python miner/opencl.py worker qtards-worker.json

When a proof is accepted: the terminal prints your reservation and stops by default. Return to Miner → Mint opportunities immediately, review and sign within 5 minutes. After minting, run the worker command again to search for another slot.

Use Ctrl+C to stop. If access expires or is revoked, create and download a fresh worker config. If the config uses localhost, it only connects from the same computer; a remote rig needs the deployed HTTPS address.

Advanced: keep mining after a proof

Add --continuous to the worker command. Each accepted proof has its own 5-minute window. This does not auto-pay or auto-mint; keep Miner open and attend each reservation. Create separate access/config files for separate GPU processes.

03 / READ YOUR RESULT

KNOW YOUR
NEXT ACTION.

Searching → Ready to mint → Confirming → Minted. Finding a hash gives you a mint opportunity. The NFT enters your collection after you sign the payment and the chain confirms it.

Searching · browser or external worker
Your GPU is trying hashes. No reservation or payment exists yet. There is no guaranteed completion time.
Ready to mint
Proof accepted. Submit your signed mint payment before this reservation expires.
Confirming
Transaction submitted. Payment and ownership are awaiting finalized confirmation; your slot stays held.
Minted
Payment and inscription were verified in a finalized Quantus block. Your QTARD is in Collection.
Released
This slot is no longer claimable. Mine a new proof. A submitted transaction may still have incurred a network fee.

There is no separate “Paid” state: mint payment and inscription execute atomically. “Confirming” does not mean a payment has already succeeded. A failed transaction can still cost a network fee.

An accepted browser proof opens its mint dialog immediately. Live signals update opportunities; a 15-second refresh backs up the connection and pending mint checks run about every 10 seconds while visible. Claim promptly; the 5-minute deadline starts at server acceptance.

BUTTON REFERENCE

WHAT EACH
BUTTON DOES.

Set up wallet / Import existing wallet
Create a new address or restore an existing one. Save your recovery phrase before continuing.
Unlock wallet
Use your local password to allow signatures in this tab. Unlocking does not sign you in to mining.
Recovery phrase
Enter your device wallet password each time to view and copy the stored phrase. It hides after 60 seconds, on wallet lock or when you leave the tab. Raw-seed imports have no recovery phrase.
Verify address & sign in
Sign a login message proving you control this address. This costs no network fee and does not authorize a mint payment. Login lasts 15 minutes.
Miner → Start mining
Check WebGPU, create temporary mining access automatically, then hash on this device’s GPU. No download or wallet keys are sent to the worker. Mining stops after one accepted proof.
Miner → Stop mining
Stop the browser session. If a proof is already being submitted, check Mint opportunities for its result. This does not cancel a reservation or payment.
Miner → External worker → Create worker access
Advanced option: give a separate GPU process temporary permission to fetch jobs and submit proofs. It cannot move funds. Access lasts less than one hour.
Miner → External worker → Download config
Save qtards-worker.json inside qtards-miner, beside its miner directory. Treat it as a private access credential; give each running process its own config.
Sync account
Refresh reservations, collection and worker contact. The wallet also checks for updates automatically.
Review mint
Open the token, owner address, price and treasury for an accepted proof. This step does not pay.
Sign & pay
Authorize the displayed mint price plus a network fee. This is the step that can spend funds.
Retry same transaction
Rebroadcast the stored signed transaction after a connection problem. It does not create a new payment signature.
Miner → Revoke
Disable that worker credential. Stop its terminal with Ctrl+C, then create a fresh config if you want to start again.
Lock wallet / Sign out
Lock clears local signing access; active mining continues. Login expiry also leaves existing worker access running, but you must sign in again to claim. Explicit Sign out stops this browser miner. External credentials remain valid until revoked or expired.
Remove from device
Delete this browser’s wallet copy. It does not delete on-chain funds or inscriptions. You need your recovery backup to restore it.
MINT COST / 10 EPOCHS

0.020 TO
0.060 QTC.

The mint price is separate from the network transaction fee. The next epoch opens after the current allocation is fully minted. Unpaid expired slots return to their epoch; reservations do not advance the epoch.
