Create, import & use your wallet

Your address, recovery backup, local password and the difference between unlocking and signing in.

Create a new wallet

  1. 01

Choose Create new wallet. The account is generated on your device using the Quantus wallet SDK.

  2. 02

Set an encryption password for the wallet copy saved in this browser. It does not replace the recovery phrase.

  3. 03

Record the recovery phrase in exact word order. The copy button is provided for convenience; treat the clipboard as sensitive and keep a durable backup outside this browser.

  4. 04

Complete the backup check and compare the public address. Keep any advanced derivation settings with your backup.

  5. 05

Unlock and choose Verify address & sign in to connect the address to QTARDS.

A new wallet is a Quantus mainnet account, not a balance held inside QTARDS. It can receive QTC on Quantus. Network minimum balances and sender fees still apply. Verify that your recovery backup restores the same address before relying on it.

Import an existing wallet

Use the original recovery phrase and the same wallet settings. A BIP39 passphrase, account index, address index or signing scheme can change the resulting address. If the address differs, check these settings before sending QTC.

The advanced raw-seed option expects a supported seed format. A seed and an expanded secret key are different formats. Import validation does not make an arbitrary key format compatible. When available, use the expected-address check to confirm restoration.

Unlocking and signing in

  • Unlock wallet opens local signing access using your encryption password.
  • Verify address & sign in signs a time-limited login message. It cannot pay for a mint or purchase.
  • Sync account reloads balance, reservations and owned QTARDS. It does not start mining.
  • Lock wallet closes local signing access. Sign out ends the website session and stops this browser’s active miner.

Balance and pending changes

Wallet and the account menu display the balance at the latest Quantus block. A balance update awaiting finality is labeled separately, with the finalized balance shown below it. An exchange may mark a withdrawal confirmed before its block is finalized. Recent balance changes can still be reversed until finality.

Payment reviews check the current on-chain balance, estimated fee and minimum retained balance before submission. NFT ownership updates only after finalized successful execution. While a mint payment, purchase or NFT transfer is open, finish that transaction before signing another from the same wallet. Mining can continue. Explorer links open the corresponding account, transaction or block.

The explorer indexer organizes chain data for searching and display. It can lag behind the node. A missing explorer result is not proof that a transaction failed; mint completion is checked against finalized chain execution.

Auto-lock while mining

Local signing access locks after ten minutes without interaction. Website login lasts fifteen minutes. An already authorized mining session can continue through these events until its temporary worker access ends. The miner does not hold your recovery phrase or spending key.

If a proof is accepted while locked, unlock and sign in again inside its Miner dialog before the five-minute claim deadline. Browser mining stops after the accepted proof. Switching tabs does not deliberately stop it; closing Miner, navigating away or explicitly signing out does.

Wallet controls explained

  • Copy address copies your public receiving address. It does not reveal a private key.
  • Recovery phrase asks for your device wallet password each time, even if signing is already unlocked. View or copy the stored phrase, then close it. It hides after 60 seconds, on wallet lock or when you leave the tab.
  • Copy phrase copies the recovery secret. Anyone who obtains it may control the wallet. Clipboard history may retain your copy.
  • Raw-seed imports have no recovery phrase. Keep the original raw-seed backup and signature scheme.
  • Review mint on Miner opens the payment review. Sign & pay authorizes the reviewed transaction.
  • Watch mint status reopens a pending result. Retry same transaction rebroadcasts stored signed bytes.
  • Remove from device deletes the encrypted browser copy. It does not erase on-chain funds or the address; restore from your recovery backup to regain access.

Receiving QTC and restoring access

Copy the full address and select Quantus mainnet at the sending service. Confirm the network, destination and minimum amount. Balances are read from finalized chain state and may update after finalization rather than immediately after submission.
